There are numerous mountains over 7000 m around the world. Most of them lie in the Himalayas and the Karakoram ranges while some lie in Pamir or Kunlun Mountains, Daxue Shan, Kongur Tagh, Hindu Kush, Annapurna Himalaya, Tian Shan, and Rolwaling Himalayas. Some of the most popular peaks above 7000 m in Asia (especially in Nepal, China, Pakistan, India) are Annapurna II and IV, Gasherbrum III and IV, Nuptse, Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli, Nanda Devi, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, Baruntse, Langtang Ri, Pumori, Api Himal, Saipal and many more.
The 7000m peaks are less challenging than 8000 m requiring a significant amount of mountaineering skills and experience of high altitude mountaineering in peaks above 6000m.
